Dani’s Foundation is committed to finding the cause and the cure for pediatric sarcomas.
Since its inception, the Foundation has been committed to finding a cure for Ewing’s Sarcoma. In 2008, the Board of Directors of the Foundation voted to increase the scope of its program of work and increased from Ewing’s only to all pediatric sarcomas; thus increasing its appeal to a broader audience and a broader scope of scientific investigators.
From the beginning, Dani’s Foundation has financially supported the work of Dr. Jeffrey Toretsky who conducts his study of Ewing’s Sarcoma at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University. That support continues today with the hope of taking his research from the bench to human clinical trials in the very near future.
In addition to Dr. Toretsky, Dani’s Foundation has provide funding to a variety of Colorado-based research projects and most recently awarded a seed research grant to the Colorado State University Animal Cancer Center for their study of Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) for local control of bone tumors.
Dani’s Foundation is currently working on the following research initiatives:
Continued support to Dr. Jeffrey Toretsky as it pertains to his novel treatment of Ewing’s Sarcoma;
Continued support to the Colorado State University Animal Cancer Center as it pertains to translational research;
The development of an annual seed research grant opportunity for up-and-coming scientific investigators who are looking into finding the cause and the cure for pediatric sarcomas.
We are in need of financial support to continue to expand our research grant awards. Your support of Dani’s Foundation will insure our ultimate success.
