Dani’s Foundation is honored to support the amazing scientific research work which is looking to find the cause and the cure for pediatric sarcomas; those rare forms of cancer that are affecting and taking the lives of children and young adults.
As of Fiscal Year 2010, Dani’s Foundation has awarded research grant awards to the following individuals and institutions:
Dr. Toretysky has been actively involved with Dani’s Foundation since its inception in 1999.
Michele Ashby sought out a lead researcher in the area of Ewing’s Sarcoma scientific investigations and Dr. Toretsky was highly recommended by the likes of the Children’s Oncology Group and many, many others.
At the present time, Dr. Toretsky is working on a novel treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma. He is working to advance his research from bench studies to human clinical trials in the very near future and Dani’s Foundation will be assisting in his efforts to develop the compound necessary to make these clinical trials a reality.
Your support of Dani’s Foundation and our efforts to fund cutting-edge research is the key to advancing Dr. Toretsky’s work and other scientists working to find better treatment protocols for all pediatric sarcoma patients.
COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY ANIMAL CANCER CENTER
Thanks to the generosity of our 2010 donors, Dani’s Foundation was financially able to offer a seed research grant to researchers at the Colorado State University Animal Cancer Center in Fort Collins, Colorado with the hope of advancing their research into Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) for local control of bone tumors.
We are hopeful that Drs. Stewart Ryan and James Custis will advance their efforts thanks to this financial support from Dani’s Foundation.
