Urge Your Representative
to Join the
Pediatric Cancer Caucus

Reps. Joseph Sestak (D-PA) and Michael McCaul (R-TX) have announced the formation of a bipartisan Pediatric Cancer Caucus, and they have circulated a Dear Colleague letter inviting members to join the caucus. The goals of the caucus are to “raise awareness for pediatric cancer, advocate in support of measures to prevent the pain, suffering and long-term effects of childhood cancers, and work toward the goal of eliminating cancer as a threat to all children.”
An estimated 10,730 children under the age of 15 were diagnosed with cancer in the United States in 2008, with leukemia being the most commonly diagnosed childhood cancer at 32.6 percent of all cases.
The caucus was formally announced on June 23 and is still seeking membership.
