Community Support

By fulfilling its mission and objectives, Dani's Foundation serves a tremendous need in the community.

Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death in children -- 1 in every 330 kids is diagnosed with cancer in the US each year.

Dani's Foundation is working to fill the gap between the limited pediatric cancer research dollars available and those critical projects that might otherwise go unfunded.  By providing seed and bridge gifts and grants for research in more effective and less-toxic therapies for treatment of pediatric cancers, we are funding hope.

We also focus on funding collaboration, so that the money that we are investing provides the greatest amount of research and new treatment studies as effectively as possible.

Through careful placement of funds, we encourage and support crucial research initiatives intended to find the cause and the cure for Ewing's Sarcoma and other pediatric sarcomas; improve treatment effectiveness, treatment outcomes; devise education programs that will assist with informing the public-at-large on the symptoms of Ewing's Sarcoma and other pediatric sarcomas with the goal of seeking earlier detection and treatment; and working to provide a wide-base of local and national resources for pediatric sarcoma patients and their families with the goal of lending immediate support to patients and healthcare professionals.

FOUNDATION FUNDING PRIORTIES

Our goal, as we grow, is to fund an ever-increasing number of new research projects and studies that will:

  • find the cause and the cure for Ewing's Sarcoma and other pediatric sarcomas
  • produce better therapies for children with cancer

Dani's Foundation is committed to

  • Continuing the funding of basic science and clinical investigations in the areas of Ewing's Sarcoma and other forms of pediatric sarcomas;
  • Increasing funding for the development of collaborative trial organization studies that are designed to speed the development of new therapies for children with cancer;
  • The establishment of a national community education program that will outline the symptoms of Ewing's Sarcoma and other pediatric sarcomas and distribute this information to front-line health care professionals including school nurses, athletic directors and coaches; pediatricians and others who are charged with dealing with our children on a daily basis and may, at times, dismiss sarcoma symptoms for other forms of aches and pains associated with physical development and activity;
  • Continuing the effort to seek out and post local and national pediatric cancer resources on the Foundation website with the goal of offering immediate assistance to pediatric cancer patients, their family members and the healthcare professionals who serve them.

We hope that you will join us in our efforts to succeed on behalf of those children and young adults who have given their lives to Ewing's Sarcoma and other forms of pediatric sarcomas and to those children - yet diagnosed - who need our help and our hope in the days ahead!
